Key Features
Engineered wood flooring is constructed to provide increased stability and moisture. The top layer is a thin sheet of natural Hickory and the core is constructed of layered plywood. Engineered Wood floors were developed for use over concrete slabs, but can be nailed down over a wood subfloor. The newest, thinnest engineered wood flooring use an advanced tongue-and-groove click system that locks them in place. These floors can be placed over a underlayment or directly over an older floor.
This type of flooring can be used almost anywhere, on, above or below grade.
Engineered flooring lets you bring the beauty and warmth of hardwood into all areas of your home. The plywood core allows the wood to naturally contract and expand. This makes engineered hardwood suitable for virtually anywhere, even in high-moisture areas such as basements!

Q How much flooring do I need to order for my room?
Measure your room’s length and width in feet, then multiply to get square footage. Add 10% extra for cuts and waste (15% for diagonal installation). Each box covers a specific area — check the specs above. If you need help calculating, email us your room dimensions.
Q Can I install this flooring over my existing floor?
Click-lock (floating) flooring can often be installed over existing hard surfaces like tile, vinyl, or hardwood — as long as the subfloor is level, clean, and dry. It should not be installed over carpet. Use the recommended underlayment for best results.
Q Is this flooring waterproof? Can I use it in bathrooms?
Check the product specs — SPC and WPC vinyl planks are 100% waterproof and safe for bathrooms, kitchens, and laundry rooms. Laminate flooring is water-resistant but not waterproof, so it’s better suited for bedrooms and living areas.
Q Do I need underlayment, or is it built in?
Some flooring products have built-in underlayment (IXPE or cork backing) — check the specs. If yours doesn’t, you’ll need to purchase underlayment separately. It helps with sound reduction, moisture protection, and a smoother feel underfoot.
Q How long do I need to acclimate the flooring before installing?
We recommend letting the flooring sit in the room (unopened boxes, laid flat) for 48 hours before installation. This allows the material to adjust to your home’s temperature and humidity, reducing the risk of expansion or gaps after installation.
