Accessibility at Home Care Supply

Home Care Supply is committed to providing a digital experience that is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We follow WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR).

  • Visible focus indicators — a high-contrast gold outline follows keyboard focus.
  • Skip-to-content link — the first Tab press jumps to the main content.
  • Semantic structure — proper headings, landmarks, and ARIA labels for assistive technology.
  • Alt text on images — meaningful descriptions on product, category, and editorial images.
  • Color contrast — body text meets the 4.5:1 ratio; interactive elements meet 3:1.
  • Form labels — every input has a visible or programmatic label and clear error messages.
  • Reduced motion — we respect the prefers-reduced-motion setting in your operating system.

Testing & conformance

The site is tested against WCAG 2.1 Level AA using a combination of automated tools (axe-core, Lighthouse), manual keyboard and screen-reader testing (VoiceOver on macOS/iOS, NVDA on Windows, TalkBack on Android), and contrast analysis. Pages are reviewed before release; known gaps are tracked and prioritised for the next sprint.

The site is optimised for the latest two versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge on desktop, and for the latest versions of Safari (iOS) and Chrome (Android) on mobile.

Known limitations

Some third-party content embedded on the site — for example, checkout, live chat, product reviews, and financing widgets — is provided by external services. We work with those vendors to improve accessibility and are happy to provide alternatives on request.
