Slab vs Pre-Hung

Slab Door

Just the door — no frame included. Best for replacing a door in an existing frame that is in good condition. You will need to mortise hinges and bore the lockset hole yourself.

Pre-Hung Door

Door, frame, and hinges — ready to install as a complete unit. Best for new construction or when replacing the entire door unit including the frame.

Pro Tip: When in doubt, go pre-hung. The small extra cost saves hours of installation time.

Hollow Core vs Solid Core

Hollow Core

Lightweight and affordable. Good for closets and pantries. Not recommended for bedrooms — provides little sound privacy.

$60 – $150
Our Recommendation: We recommend solid core for every room. The difference in feel and sound privacy is worth it.
4

Glass Options

Clear Glass

Maximum light transmission. Best for open-concept areas where privacy is not needed.

Frosted Glass

Lets light through while maintaining privacy. Ideal for bathrooms and home offices.

Decorative Glass

Textured patterns that add character and visual interest to your space.

Solid (No Glass)

Maximum privacy and sound blocking. Best for bedrooms and bathrooms.

All our glass doors use tempered safety glass.
